LiNbO3 crystal is a low-cost photoelectric material with good mechanical and physical properties and high optical uniformity.
It has been widely used as frequency multiplier with wavelength greater than 1mm, optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped to 1064nm and quasi phase matching (QPM) devices.
With good EO coefficient, LiNbO3 crystal has become the most commonly used material for Q-switch, phase modulator, waveguide substrate and surface acoustic wave (SAW) wafer.
Compared with LiNbO3, MgO: LiNbO3 crystal has higher damage threshold.
